"You," said Dr. Yavitch, "are a middle-road liberal, and you
haven't the slightest idea what you want. I, being a revolutionist,
know exactly what I want - and what I want right now is a drink"

:: An Inconvenient Truth 1:35 PM

The last democratically elected president of the United States has re-emerged from his self imposed isolation. He still lives in, and travels through the United States, but now, he is trying to educate the people of the United States about the dangers of Global Warming.

In a country that wouldn't fight for their elected president, and submits to rule by the purse, Al Gore travels alone, and gives his lectures for free. Al Gore, a man of morals and integrity, will forever be relegated to the wilderness in his homeland. He doesn't glitter, or shine, and doesn't want to be celebrated.

America, it would seem, is not ready for a truly 'good' leader. The country is drowning in a sea of lies, ravaged by corporate and political greed, and hopelessly blundering forward as a bully in a world resentful of its attitude and success. And yet, many members of the punditocracy continue to praise our naked emperor, parroting his lies and peddling his obsessive agenda of power, cronyism and graft. Washington is for sale, but the last elected president is not.

George Bush promised America many things. At one point, almost 90% of Americans though he was doing a good job as president. Now, the lies have been exposed, and 53% of Americans think George Bush should be impeached. Unfortunately, it is too late for that. Once you let the wolf in, he devoured the chickens. He brought more wolves, paid for with illegal corporate donations, filtered through the Washington cesspool, distributed by lobbyists, and firmly entrenching the wolves in power. The wolves no longer play by the rules. They listen to your phone calls, lock up your neighbors, spread rumor and lie, dividing the people, one against the other. Too late. The chickens are dead, the constitution is dead, and the political wolf is the king of the hill.

But somewhere, there is a man with a good heart, a sense of fair-play, who still believes that morality is what you do, not what you demand of others. Maybe, just maybe, a few more minds will awaken if they cross his path, maybe America can return to its former status as an example of possibility rather than its current status as a greedy global bully to be avoided if possible, appeased if necessary. If so, maybe it starts with Al. Maybe it starts with you taking another look at Al Gore and recognizing who he is, recognizing what America lost, and recognizing that its up to us to decide what we do now.

About
Subversity is one of those people who never takes anything seriously while at the same time, responds seriously to the world around him. He wants people to listen to his ideas but isn't willing to make the compromises it would take to get everyone to shut up and hear him. He explodes with passion whenever something catches his interest, dives in and gives it all he has.
