The Orthodox Anarchist has a good Rudolph Rocker quote which details the reasons most anarchists, myself included, reject the type of action Andrew Mickel took.
But, other than the Rudolph Rocker excerpt, I find Orthodox Anarchist's posts to be nothing more than name calling. Saying that Andrew Mickel's action was "sheer fucking idiocy" is possibly true, but pointless. It's certainly not 'discussion'. I have tried to delve into the issues raised by his action and trial to understand 'what it means'. My Posts can be found here... 1) A Deer In The Headlights (April 4) 9 Comments! As you read, remember that Subversity is not a political site, and, while I would describe my political philosophy as anarcho-syndicalist, this is not an anarchist site, I dont delve into the intricacies of anarchist, socialist, or communist theory, and this is not a revolutionary outpost on your road to freedom. It is just my blog, and I fill it with my opinions. If you want to know more about Anarchism, or Anarcho-Syndicalism, the best place to start is either by picking up a good compilation of Anarchist writings, such as Anarchism by Daniel Guerin, or, check out the Anarchist Archives. I recommend Anarcho-Syndicalism by Rudolph Rocker. It was written to try to explain the theory behind the anarchists of the Spanish Civil War. The examples he cites are dated to that period, but the theory is applicable to today. Update: Someone from the AntiDefamation Leage is researching 'Andrew Mickel' on the web. They visited my site this afternoon but they didn't leave a comment. As far as I know, neither Mickel or Mobilio was jewish, so my guess is that they are working on a report on 'radicals' even if they dont target jews. I guess anyone who as ever mentioned the word anarchism will be targeted now, though I would assume the ADL would stay out of it. Emma Goldman was jewish, and much of the early american anarchists were jewish. I wonder if that's the connection they are investigating? Subversity is one of those people who never takes anything seriously while at the same time, responds seriously to the world around him. He wants people to listen to his ideas but isn't willing to make the compromises it would take to get everyone to shut up and hear him.
