:: Welcome to America 12:15 PM

One only needs to take a glance around the newspapers to see that there is an overabundance of stupidity, vapidness, and falsity in America. The vapid and vain channel is currently obsessing over Michael Jackson, child molester or what? Who cares. And of course, Paris Holton is making new inroads for the vain and vapid with her reality show. Somehow, I'm finding nothing more surreal that Paris Hilton's reality. She went to a daycare, to experience the reality of childrearing.

WTF?

Who thought of this? The show started with her dog pissing on the floor of a bus. This was somebody's idea of a segway into daily life at a child care center. It progressed through watching her gag and almost puke at the thought of having to feed and change a few babies, and then she went to sleep on the floor of the daycare.

This is the kind of shit that would make a Frenchman say "Off With Their Heads" - but Americans have some sort of perverse love for the vapid and vain. These daughters of wall street are not unique. They are the product of a life of wealth insulated from the realities of work. They are the republican ideal. Spoiled, wealthy, playthings, with no intrinsic value.

The image of Paris, and her surreal reality closely mirrors another Republican ideal. The news, or lack of. The image of the world portrayed in the media is designed for Paris Hilton's reality. One where the events portrayed, and the actors involved, are sometimes real, sometimes government propaganda, and mostly used as a device to keep us baffled by the bullshit. The image of today, as portrayed on TV is no less surreal that the Paris Hilton show.

The news shows do not cover the problematic stories. If it doesn't fit the political script, it didn't happen. The talking point on Iraq is that we are lacking an exit strategy. This makes the implicit suggestion that we are not staying in Iraq. And, since we are not staying in Iraq, we need to avoid looking a the parts of the story that don't agree with that assumption.

You will not see images of American soldiers in permanent structures. You will not see images of American soldiers in offensive operations. You will see soldiers in temporary structures, tents, and such. And you will see American soldiers cleaning up or directing traffic. The temporary stabilizing force.

Where are the pictures of the destruction of Falluja? Have you seen them? The rest of the world has seen them. The BBC even ran a documentary about it. But, not here. And, by and large, Americans don't care all that much.

Americans have never had to take responsibility for their actions. This is the essence of the Reagan, Republican doctrine. Selfish greed is good, and it is okay to ignore the side-effects of those actions.

Americans value the dollar. They hold no social contract. The republicans propose to put everyone's retirement at risk for the sake of the dollar. And it's true, some people will benefit from the privatization of the retirement fund. There will always be the 1%.

A country that cared for it's citizens would risk a few dollars to ensure that everyone's retirement was safe. But not here. Here where the dollar is more important, we are being asked to risk everyone's retirement to make sure we make the most of every retirement dollar.

So, welcome to America, where you can watch the false news channel, which will show you a false news story that was actually created by the govt, about a false event, caused by a false crisis, explained using false evidence.

Here in america, false prophets sell the almighty dollar as a false god to the simpleminded in the name if Christianity.

Thank You.

PS - And as a side note to those end-timers who believe in the rapture ... well, it all ready happened and you got left behind to suffer in the hell you created. Welcome to America.
